Are you a Cancer Patient and in Need of Transportation to get to your Chemo or Radiation Appointment?

The American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program is a free service for cancer patients who lack transportation.

Some patients may not have friends or relatives in the area who can accommodate their needs because they work and are unable to get a leave of absence. However, the Road to Recovery drivers donate their time and the use of their personal vehicle to transport cancer patients to those in need.

Being diagnosed with cancer and having to get treatment is a major burden to overcome. Worrying about how to get to treatment can compound the frustration if a person is without transportation.

Road to Recovery is the core of the American Cancer Society mission – people helping people to overcome cancer. Road to Recovery volunteers provide an essential service because even the greatest medical advances is useless if patients cannot get to and from treatment.

The goal and mission of the American Cancer Society is to reduce cancer incidence and mortality rates. The four areas of concentration is cancer research, education, advocacy and services to cancer patients.

If you are in need of transportation through the Road to Recovery volunteer, please contact your American Cancer Society at 800-ACS-2345.
