Alleghany Grand Jury Indicts 55 On Drug Charges

 
Alleghany County Sheriff Kevin Hall announced on Thursday, February 4, 2010 that 55 individuals had been indicted on 179 felony drug charges by an Alleghany Grand Jury on January 20, 2010.

The Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force began arresting the individuals last wee. As of press time today, 52 individuals had been arrested.

Eleven vehicles were seized by the drug task force as the arrests were made.

Assisting with the arrests were members of the Alleghany, Bath and Highland County Sheriff's office, along with the Virginia State Police, Covington Police Department, Iron Gate town sergeant, ABC agents, Virginia Conservative police and CSX detectives.

The Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force consists of officers from the Virginia State Police, the Covington Police Department and the Alleghany, Bath and Highland County Sheriff's offices.
