| Trillium School for Performing Arts announces Fall classes
|
| This week, the Trillium School for Performing Arts will be sending out their schedule of classes and registration forms for the 2010-2011 school year. Formerly known as the Dance Studio, the Trillium School has been teaching children and adults in the Greenbrier Valley since 1982. This year, classes in modern dance, ballet, yoga and improvisational dance will be offered, including a new all-boys movement class for 5 to 9-year-olds. Classes will be held on the new Lewis Theatre stage and in Carnegie Hall’s dance studio.
Trillium has a unique approach to teaching, by promoting the growth of the dancer in addition to the whole person. The classes promote physical, social and emotional health, by encouraging student creativity, and creating a nurturing environment through affirmation and cooperation. Students also develop coordination, focus, healthy alignment, stamina and body knowledge, all of which deepens the discipline of dance.
As a non-profit organization, Trillium strives to make its programs accessible to all members of the community by offering scholarships to students in need of financial assistance. A Scholarship Fund was initiated last year, which will go toward partial scholarships for students this year. Additional funds are still needed. Community members are asked to consider sponsoring a student. Donations of any size are welcome and will go directly toward tuition assistance for students. For class information or to make a donation, visit www.TrilliumPerformingArts.org, email trilliumdancewv@gmail or call (304) 645-3003 or mail 115 N. Court St. Lewisburg, WV 24901. | | | | | |
