Free Ivy Terrace Concerts Return

| Lewisburg, WV (July 19, 2010) - Summer is here and so is Carnegie Hall’s popular Ivy Terrace Concert series. Enjoy free, live music on the lawn of Carnegie Hall. Bring a picnic supper, a blanket and your dancing shoes - barefeet permitted. Concerts begin at 6:30pm and are free and open to everyone. Mark your calendars now! Remaining dates for Ivy Terrace 2010 are July 22 and a special Friday night performance on July 30 and returning to Thursday on August 19.
Performing this week, The Ginsangers, an Elkins-based folk music duo featuring Connie Townsend and Dave Parker. Townsend and Parker have taken their music from New England to Louisiana. In 2003, one of their songs, "Rock Me Like a Lullaby," took them to MerleFest where they won first place in the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest. That same year they were top 10 finalists at the Mountain Stage New Song Contest with "Carry My Soul Away." They were also runners-up in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest that same year. In 2005, they made their debut on Mountain Stage, where they appeared with Kasey Chambers, The Greencards and Tony Joe White. They have also shared the stage with the Osborne Brothers, J.D. Crowe, bluesman Ernie Hawkins, Johnny Staats and Ginny Hawker. Their work has earned a spot on a West Virginia compilation disc, in Mark Nowak's play Sago and most recently in the production, "West Virginia: Words and Music." Their CD releases, "These Hills," "Gentle Graces" and the most recent release, "Weight of Light," have been well received and played on stations across the country. "Weight of Light" was a featured album on XM Radio shortly following its release. Their recordings are available at their shows and online at www.theginsangers.com.
