Sprucing up for 2012! Workers from Cave contractors make repairs to the brick wall surrounding a monument on the front lawn of the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College campus in Clifton Forge. The plaque on the monument shown in the photo states that the land for the college was secured by the Haynes family in the 1780’s. It was sold in 1889 to a railroad before it was donated to the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1963 for a college site. This is an example of numerous renovation and expansion projects nearing completion on campus. Tours to showcase new and improved spaces to members of the community to showcase new and improved spaces will be available during a March 18th Open House, the official celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 1962 establishment of the institution that later became Dabney S. Lancaster Community College in 1967.
