A Fitting Tribute for 37 Years of Service: Hospital Honors William Lewis with Pillar of Excellence Award

Low Moor, VA, February, 2012 – After retiring from LewisGale Hospital Alleghany, William Lewis has a lot to be proud of from his 37 years of dedicated service to his nomination as the hospital’s recipient of the Pillar of Excellence Award.

Over the years, William worked his way up to Environmental Services Supervisor and left behind a legacy that will not be forgotten.

“I will miss William’s ready smile, his dedication, and his commitment to our patients,” wrote Carla Dobbs, B.S.N, R.N., Quality Director, on his nomination form. She went on to praise William for setting a positive tone in the department. “William is always so happy, helpful, and a team player. Employees look to him for guidance.”

The Pillar of Excellence Award recognizes staff members who distinguish themselves by providing exceptional levels of service, exemplifying the spirit of team work, achieving consistently high levels of job performance, and demonstrating reliability and dependability.

As a recipient of the award, William’s picture will now be on display in the hospital’s main corridor.

“William exemplifies the qualities that set our hospital apart and is well deserving of this award,” said Greg Madsen, CEO, LewisGale Hospital Alleghany. “We are thankful for his years of service and dedication. He will definitely be missed.”
