ALLEGHANY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

REGULAR MEETING AGENDA

1.     CALL TO ORDER:

2.     INVOCATION:

3.     PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

4.     MINUTES:     

     A.     Approval of the minutes of: (1) a regular meeting held on April 2, 2013.

5.     PUBLIC HEARINGS:     

     A.     Joint Public Hearing with the Alleghany County Planning Commission to consider updates to the Alleghany County Comprehensive Plan.

     B.     Public Hearing to consider the conveyance by Alleghany County of a 15' wide by approximately 100' long utility easement to cross the Jackson River Scenic Trail at 5612 Jackson River Road to Dominion Virginia Power to install a new 120/240 volt secondary line underground to serve the property of Mr. Ricky Jones.

     C.     Public Hearing to consider an amendment to the County Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2012-13 in the amount of $2,000,000. The amendment is needed for funds accumulated in the School Capital fund which will be expended in this fiscal year for the Alleghany High School HVAC upgrade and replacement project.

6.     PUBLIC COMMENT:     

7.     VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (VDOT) UPDATE:

     A.     Ms. Susan Hammond, VDOT Resident Engineer - Update.                

8.     UNFINISHED BUSINESS:     

     A.     Consider updates to the Alleghany County Comprehensive Plan. (NOTE: The Planning Commission will be giving its recommendation after holding a brief meeting following the above public hearing.)

9.     NEW BUSINESS:

     A.     Discuss and consider request for property owner rights along the Jackson River Scenic Trail from Mr. Ricky Jones.

     B.     Discuss and consider school budget for FY 2014.

     C.     Discuss and consider a supplemental appropriation of $2,000,000 for the school capital fund.

     D.     Discuss and consider budget transfer for the Comprehensive Services Act Program.

     E.     Discuss Public-Private Education Facilities and Infrastructure Act to allow for public/private partnership approach for development of future projects for public use.
