Alleghany Board of Supervisors Meets May 7, 2013   ALLEGHANY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS REGULAR MEETING AGENDA MAY 7, 2013 7:00 P.M. 1.     CALL TO ORDER: 2.     INVOCATION: 3.     PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: 4.     MINUTES:           A.     Approval of the minutes of: (1) a regular meeting held on April 2, 2013. 5.     PUBLIC HEARINGS:           A.     Joint Public Hearing with the Alleghany County Planning Commission to consider updates to the Alleghany County Comprehensive Plan.      B.     Public Hearing to consider the conveyance by Alleghany County of a 15' wide by approximately 100' long utility easement to cross the Jackson River Scenic Trail at 5612 Jackson River Road to Dominion Virginia Power to install a new 120/240 volt secondary line underground to serve the property of Mr. Ricky Jones.      C.     Public Hearing to consider an amendment to the County Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2012-13 in the amount of $2,000,000. The amendment is needed for funds accumulated in the School Capital fund which will be expended in this fiscal year for the Alleghany High School HVAC upgrade and replacement project. 6.     PUBLIC COMMENT:      7.     VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (VDOT) UPDATE:      A.     Ms. Susan Hammond, VDOT Resident Engineer - Update.                 8.     UNFINISHED BUSINESS:           A.     Consider updates to the Alleghany County Comprehensive Plan.
