Dabney S. Lancaster Community College’s forestry team placed fourth overall in the 13th annual Mid-Atlantic Woodsman’s Meet hosted on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus Saturday, April 5. The day-long event featured a variety of competitions using woodsman’s tools including axes, chainsaws and crosscut saws.
A large and enthusiastic crowd cheered on the five college teams who competed. The overall winner was Penn State at Mont Alto; Haywood Community College in Clyde, NC, placed second; Allegany College of Maryland in Cumberland was third; and Montgomery Community College in Troy, NC was fifth.
