Kroger Invites Customers to Celebrate Earth Day by Supporting Sustainable Seafood

Kroger invites customers to celebrate Earth Day by looking to the sea through a video series designed to inform customers about the company’s work to source sustainable seafood.

â€śOur customers value Kroger’s commitment to sourcing sustainable seafood,” said Emily Mink, meat merchandiser for the Mid-Atlantic region. “We work closely with fisheries and our supplier partners in Virginia to ensure that Kroger’s seafood is fresh, delicious and available for future generations.”

Kroger’s strategy for responsibly-sourced seafood—which was developed in partnership with the World Wildlife Fund—is explored in the three part video series that is available at https://sustainability.kroger.com/sustainability_sustainable_seafood/index.shtml. The series has been shared through social media the past two weeks.

Every year on April 22 more than a billion people in 190 countries take actions for Earth Day. Earth Day 2014 focuses on the unique environmental challenges of our time.
