Open Mic Variety Night at the Masonic Amphitheatre Features Local Musician, Glenn Kidder

The fourth Open Mic Variety Night at the Masonic Amphitheatre will take place Friday evening, September 26 at 7:00 pm. In addition to offering the stage of the Amphitheatre to local performers, Variety Night tries to feature one performer at each of the Open Mic events.
On Friday, September 26, Open Mic will feature Alleghany Highlands' resident, Glenn Kidder. Glenn Kidder, formerly from Pittsburgh and long-time Boston resident, began writing songs and performing in his late teens. He was a solo artist for many years before becoming a founding member of the successful Central Pennsylvania acoustic folk-rock band, Cartoon. The band released 4 CDs of original songs.
Glenn is a singer, guitarist, percussionist, and award-winning songwriter. His original compositions cross the genres of country, blues, folk, and acoustic rock. His lyrics speak of relationships and the crazy dance of love. His song-stories tell tales of lighthouse keepers, river-barge operators, Wild West saloons, New York blues bars, and more.
Glenn brings intimacy and a dose of humor to his performances, and through his songs describes a world that you will likely identify with in many ways.
Glenn relocated to the Alleghany Highlands with his wife, Covington native Cecelia "CeCe" Camp Brosnahan, in the summer of 2013. This peaceful and gorgeous mountain setting is serving as inspiration for many of his newest songs.
Open Mic Variety Night welcomes all local performers to take the stage of the award-winning Masonic Amphitheatre. Entrance tent opens at 6:00 pm and entertainers are encouraged to bring instruments or recorded music, stories or dance and register to perform.
Admission is a donation to the SAVE THE MASONIC restoration project and the audience is welcome to use the Amphitheatre’s bench or chair seating or bring your own. Concessions are available.
