Leanne M. Shank Named Treasurer of NACUA

| Leanne M. Shank, general counsel at Washington and Lee University, has been elected to a three-year term as treasurer of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA).
Shank has been a member of NACUA, the primary source of higher education law programming for its members and the higher education community, since 1993. She served as a member-at-large of NACUA’s board of directors 2007-10 and its Committee on Finance & Audit and subcommittee on Investments from 2002-14. She chaired the subcommittee the past six years.
In the community, Shank has been president of the Rockbridge-Buena Vista Bar Association and the local Free Clinic, director and treasurer of the Yellow Brick Road Child Care Center, and president and officer of United Way of Lexington/Rockbridge County.
Shank received her B.A. from the State University of New York at Oswego and her J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before Joining W&L, she was Rockbridge County attorney and began her legal career at a private firm in Washington, D.C. | | | |
