MeadWestvaco’s Covington Mill Supports Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Corporation   COVINGTON, VIRGINIA – October 26, 2014 – The Covington mill recently presented a donation to the Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Corporation (AHEDC). The AHEDC was created to generate employment opportunities for local residents, improve local business conditions, enhance the local tax base, and promote the general welfare of communities. They have supported projects such as the redevelopment of the Town House Motel (now the Quality Inn), construction of the biomass boiler, and the relocation and expansion of Wholesale Tire Company.
