Lower Cowpasture Restoration and Management Project Public Workshop

 
Covington, Va. December 2, 2014 – The USDA Forest Service will host a public workshop to discuss the proposed 100,000 acre Lower Cowpasture Restoration and Management Project on Monday, December 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Millboro Elementry School (411 Church Street) in Millboro, Virginia.

The workshop will include a presentation on the draft enviornmental analysis. This presentation will outline the environmental impacts for proposed activites to the Lower Cowpasture Restoration and Management Project.

The Lower Cowpasture Restoration and Management Project resides in a diverse area with a wide range of natural resources within the Cowpasture, Jackson, and Calfpasture River watersheds. Propossed projects include but are not limited to: timber harvest, prescribed burning, invasive plant management, recreation, and forest road access.

In the event of inclement weather, the workshop may be rescheduled. Changes in the date and/or time of this workshop will be posted by 4:30 p.m. on December 8 at https://www.fs.usda.gov/alerts/gwj/alerts-notices.
