Customer Care Career Training Starts Feb. 3 at DSLCC

A new six-week career training program, “Customer Care Representative”, is being launched at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College this semester, starting Tuesday, February 3. The program is geared specifically for Faneuil, Inc., which operates the EZ Pass Customer Care Center in Clifton Forge.

Classes will meet from 9 am to 3 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in Room 504, McCarthy Hall, on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus. Classes will include training in keyboarding, customer service, employment preparation and digital and computer literacy. There will also be preparation for the HDI Customer Service Representative Certificate and the Career Readiness Certificate, both nationally recognized employment credentials.

Credentialing will take place March 17-18 and job interviews will be scheduled after participants have successfully completed the program.

Funding for the program, as well as the credentialing, is available for qualified applicants. The On Ramp Adult Career Pathways Program will pay for any dislocated worker who participates in the training. On Ramp assistance is provided by the US Department of Labor Workforce Investment Act Title I Funds.

Space is limited; call (540) 620-6391 for more information and to apply.

In addition to DSLCC and Faneuil, the training is made possible by a partnership among the following agencies: On Ramp Adult Career Pathways Program, Goodwill Industries of the Valleys, the Roanoke Valley Alleghany Regional Commission and PluggedIn Virginia.
