Landscape Photography Offered at DSLCC

“Landscape & Night Photography”, a three-week workshop offered by the Dabney S Lancaster Community College Non-Credit Program, will be taught on Thursdays, Feb. 12, 19 and 26, from 6 to 9 pm, in Room 504, McCarthy Hall, on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus.

Noted professional photographer Chuck Almarez, who owns and operates “Fire and Light Gallery” in Clifton Forge, is the instructor.

“This three week workshop will introduce students to techniques for effective landscape photography, including creating panoramas and 3-D images,” explains Almarez. “As the sun goes down students will get a good understanding of exposure while shooting at dusk. After dark, we will be using starlight and moonlight as well as painting with light, using portable strobes and portable lighting.”

A camera with manual mode and a tripod are strongly recommended. Enrollment is limited to 10 students. The tuition fee is $54.

For more information about the course, contact Almarez at fireandlight@ntelos.net. To register, contact DSLCC Workforce Solutions and Community Education Programs Coordinator Doug Jones at (540) 863-2870 or djones@dslcc.edu.
