Windows 8 Workshops Planned at DSLCC

A one-night workshop on the Windows 8 operating system is being offered in two locations by the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Non-Credit Program in February. The instructor for both workshops is Ed Mays.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, February 10, from 6 to 8 pm in Room 504, McCarthy Hall, on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus, and again on Wednesday, February 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in Room 907, at the DSLCC Rockbridge Regional Center in Buena Vista.

“Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system is designed to integrate with Microsoft Office 2013 and other Microsoft applications,” explains Mays. “Students will work with tile apps as well as desktop applications, create files and folders, and learn to use other functions that will enable them to make the most of Microsoft’s newest operating system.”

Each workshop has a tuition fee of $35, and no book is required.

To register for either workshop , contact DSLCC Workforce Solutions and Community Education Programs Coordinator Doug Jones at (540) 863-2870 or djones@dslcc.edu.
