Close-Up Photography Offered at DSLCC
|
| A two-night workshop on close-up photography, “Macro Photography”, will be held on Thursdays, March 5 and 12, from 6 to 9 pm in Room 504, McCarthy Hall, on the Dabney S Lancaster Community College Clifton Forge campus with noted professional photographer Chuck Almarez as the instructor. The tuition fee is $36 for the non-credit course, and enrollment is limited to ten students.
This workshop will introduce students to special close-up photography tools and lighting techniques as they explore a new way of seeing and capturing images, says Almarez.
“Macro photography provides a view of our world that is always there but is seldom seen,” says Almarez. “Even the most basic digital cameras have a Macro setting that will let you focus to within inches of your subject. Extreme close-up views of flowers, insects, or just everyday objects can transform the ordinary into art.”
Almarez is also teaching another non-credit workshop, “Landscape and Night Photography”, on Thursdays, Feb. 12, 19 and 26, from 6 to 9 pm, in Room 504, McCarthy Hall.
For more information about the course, contact Almarez at fireandlight@ntelos.net; to register for either course, contact DSLCC Programs Coordinator Doug Jones at (540) 863-2870 or djones@dslcc.edu.
