Kroger Lowers Prices on Thousands of Items
Lower Prices on Meat, Produce and Natural Foods

(April 28, 2015) - Kroger’s Mid-Atlantic Division has lowered prices on thousands of items in its 120 stores in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and parts of Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio.

The price reduction plan is based on frequently purchased items, including fresh meat and produce as well as thousands of grocery, general merchandise and natural food items.

â€śThese lower prices represent Kroger’s commitment to put customers first,” said Anne Jenkins, spokesperson for the Mid-Atlantic Division. “We are listening to our customers and lowering prices on items that are relevant to them.”

Kroger has reduced prices on more than 2,000 natural food products, including select varieties of Tazo Tea, Kashi and Earth’s Best products.

â€śKroger wants to provide customers with great values and a pleasant shopping experience.” added Jenkins. “There will be no increases in the prices of other items or changes in coupons.”

Customers will notice significant reductions in the meat department, including popular selections such as pork ribs, which went from $3.99 to $2.99, and Atlantic Salmon fillets, which dropped from $7.99 to $6.99.

With the increase in demand for natural and organic products, Kroger is reducing costs to make these popular products more affordable for the average family. For example, the price of organic Fuji Apples has been reduced from $2.99 to $2.49; organic Gala Apples from $1.99 to $1.79; organic leaf lettuce and Romaine from $1.99 to $1.59; organic cucumbers $1.99 to $1.29.

Among grocery items, Gatorade (12 pack, 12 oz.) has been reduced from $7.99 to $5.99; Kroger Extra Virgin Olive Oil (25.5 oz.) has been reduced from $6.99 to $4.99 and Crest Toothpaste (4.6 oz.) from $2.39 to $1.89.

â€śThese are a few examples of the thousands of items which have been reduced in price,” added Jenkins. “In addition, Kroger customers will continue to see fuel rewards, digital coupons, weekly specials and loyalty mailers, tailored to their individual shopping habits.”

By downloading the Kroger mobile app through the App store or Google Play, customers can sign in to their Kroger.com account to register their Plus Card and take advantage of additional features, including digital coupons.
