Masonic Amphitheatre's Open Mic Night Features 'Virginia Fast'

Local band, “Virginia Fast” will be the featured entertainment at the first Open Mic Night of the 2015 Masonic Amphitheatre Season on Friday, May 22 at 7:00 PM.

Virginia Fast is a five-piece bluegrass band that began in Clifton Forge, Virginia. The members of the band consist of leader and guitar player, Chase Burley-Smith, banjo player, Seth Richmond, bass player, David Broughman, mandolin player, Tyler Huffman, and lead vocalist, Ethan Deisher. The band plays everything from traditional bluegrass to rock and country in addition to their own original songs. Wilma McClung, a member of the Amphitheatre programming committee says, “Every one of the members of Virginia Fast are extremely talented, musically gifted young men that could accomplish many things on their own, but together their talent truly shines to its full potential when they are on stage and call themselves ‘Virginia Fast’. We are very excited to have them perform on the award-winning Amphitheatre Stage”.

In addition to “Virginia Fast” all local entertainers are encouraged to take the stage during Open-Mic night. Please bring music or instrument and check in at the Amphitheatre entrance tent between 6:00 and 7:00 to register to perform.

Open Mic Night is scheduled for one Friday every month during the summer. Admission is a donation to the SAVE THE MASONIC restoration campaign.
