Ten students received their pins during the annual Pinning Ceremony for the Practical Nursing Program at the Dabney S Lancaster Community College Rockbridge Regional Center in Buena Vista. From left: April Moore of Buena Vista; Kristin Craft of New Castle; Kimberly Moore of Bath County; Lauren Webb and Sarah Dimaano, both of Covington; Audrey Poindexter of Lexington; Elizabeth Gardner of Clifton Forge; Harley Crummett of Bath County; and Kaitlyn Wilson and Dana Harshbarger, both of Clifton Forge. The ceremony was held at Rockbridge County High School May 13; the students each received a Certificate in Practical Nursing during commencement exercises May 15 on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus. The guest speaker was DSLCC Associate Professor Gloria Smitka, RN, who teaches in the nursing program. Adjunct instructor Devon Nicely, RN, gave the invocation and benediction and pinned the graduates; remarks and words of welcome were given by DSLCC President Dr. John Rainone and DSLCC Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs Lynn McAllister, RN. April Moore, nursing class president, introduced the speaker and Susan Snyder, RN, conducted the lighting of the lamps for the ceremony.
