Humane Society Seeks Walk Participants

 
Low Moor, VA., May 29, 2015 – The Alleghany Humane Society will hold the Sixth Annual Walk for the Animals on Saturday, June 6 at the Jackson River Sports Complex. Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. Along with the 1.5 mile walk, there will be a Blessing of the Animals, Paws Parade of adoptable dogs from the shelter, and a police dog demonstration. The events begin at 11 a.m.

The registration fee is $15 per walker or a bag of pet food, pet treats, or pet toys that equals that amount. Participants can walk with or without a dog. Walkers who raise $30 or more in sponsorships (not including registration fee) will receive a t-shirt, and additional awards will be given to the top three fundraisers.

If you would like to walk in this event, you may pick up participant forms at the animal shelter on Rich Patch Road, Paul’s Sports Cards, DSLCC, Lil Smoke Shop, Bella Pizza, Jack Mason, Club Car, YMCA, MWV Training Center, MWV Low Moor, and MWV Carbon plant, Pampered Pets, Intervale Animal Hospital, Highland Pet Center, Greenbrier Vet, Highlands Veterinary Clinic, the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce, Tractor Supply, Lewis Gale – Alleghany, Covington Tire, Clemons Tire and Auto, Cucci’s, Trani’s, Covington City Hall, Clifton Forge Town Hall, Alleghany County Government Complex, Jackson River Veternary Hospital, and Arritt Funeral Home.
