ALLEGHANY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

REGULAR MEETING AGENDA

4.     MINUTES:     

     A.     Approval of the minutes of: (1) a regular meeting held on June 2, 2015; (2) an adjourned meeting held on June 9, 2015; and (3) an adjourned meeting held on June 16, 2015.

5.     PUBLIC HEARING:     

     A.     Public Hearing to consider an ordinance authorizing the adoption of Amendment No. 1 to the Workforce Investment Area III Chief Local Elected Officials Charter Agreement.

6.     PUBLIC COMMENT:     

7.     VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (VDOT) UPDATE:

     A.     Ms. Susan Hammond, VDOT Resident Engineer - Update.

8.     UNFINISHED BUSINESS:     

     A.     Discuss and consider the conveyance by Alleghany County of the following to Dominion Virginia Power to install underground facilities and remove overhead electric lines in the Alleghany Regional Commerce Center:

          1.     A 15' wide by approximately 20' long utility easement near Timber Lane.

          2.     A 15' wide by approximately 969' long utility easement located at 1301 Commerce Center Drive.

     B.     The term of Ms. Debbie Henderson (Falling Spring District) on the C. P. Jones Memorial Library Board expires June 30, 2015. Terms are for 4 years and Ms. Henderson is eligible for reappointment.

9.     NEW BUSINESS:     

     A.     Mr. Patrick Sheridan, District Ranger - Forest Service update.

     B.     Jackson River Preservation Association Representative - Discuss trash/restroom problem at river accesses.

     C.     Discuss and consider supplemental appropriations for the school system and a reduction of Title 1 funds in FY 15-16.

     D.     Discuss and consider supplemental appropriation to purchase property for a new Cherokee Sewer Pump Station. Also, authorize County Administrator to sign property purchase agreement.

     E.     Discuss and consider a contract amendment with S. G. Young Contracting, LLC for unforeseen costs in relation to the replacement/repair of roofing at ten water and sewer pump stations and the Island Ford Transfer Station’s office roof and decking.

     F.     Discuss and consider supplemental appropriations for Sheriff’s Office overtime pay for holidays.
