'Bring Your Own Basket' Event Set By Arts Council In Covington

Covington, VA (July 24, 2015) - The Alleghany Highlands Arts Council will host a community social event Friday evening, July 31 at their office at 450 W. Main Street, Suite 100 in Covington. "Bring Your Own Basket" is an endeavor to bring patrons together to share food and fun on Main Street while enjoying high-quality entertainment in a casual setting.
The evening begins at 6:30 pm. as guests have a chance to nosh and mingle. At 7:00 pm singer/songwriter Chris Shepard will perform on the Studio Stage in the lobby. Chris is a Covington native who performs frequently in and around the Roanoke area. He's also a fine actor who has appeared in numerous plays and musicals at Mill Mountain Theatre, Showtimers, Studio Roanoke, Little Town Players, Off The Rail Theatre Company and many more. Chris last performed for the Arts Council with his band Sierra Dog Romeo as part of an Arts In The Park event in 2002.
Anyone wishing to attend should bring a food item to share with others and your own personal beverage. Admission is by donation which will go to the visiting artist. The courtesy of an RSVP would be appreciated to allow for ample seating.
