DSLCC Offers Physical Therapy Aide Course   Clifton Forge, VA (August 31, 2015) - "Physical Therapy Aide" is a new 50-hour non-credit course being offered at the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Rockbridge Regional Center in Buena Vista this fall. Class will meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9:30 pm, from September 14 through November 2. A Physical Therapy Aide is generally responsible for carrying out the non-technical duties of physical therapy, such as preparing treatment areas, ordering devices and supplies, and transporting patients working under the direction of the physical therapist. They also assist physical therapists in providing services that help improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. Places of employment may include nursing homes, hospitals, sports rehabilitation center and some orthopedic clinics. This course does not include a national or state certification as part of its overall objectives. The tuition of $999 includes accompanying textbooks.
