Alleghany-Bath-Highland Bar Association Sponsoring 4th Senior Law Day May 25, 2016

Covington, VA (May 4, 2016) - The Alleghany-Bath-Highland Bar Association, the association of local lawyers, is sponsoring its fourth Senior Law Day to be held at the Moomaw Center on the campus of the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. The program begins at 10:00 a.m. and will last until approximately 2:30 p.m. The program is free and lunch will be provided at no cost to all registered attendees.

The A-B-H Bar has recognized that the elderly population is growing rapidly and the needs of that group in our society differ from the needs of the rest of the population. The program has been organized to provide senior citizens, their adult children and caregivers with information and access to resources for a wide range of issues that are important to our seniors. Attorneys from the ABH Bar Association, along with other experts, will address subjects such as basic estate planning and probate issues, Alzheimer’s Disease, guardianships and conservatorships, long-term care insurance, elder abuse and identity theft, nursing home issues, and how to pay for long-term care.

Senior Law Day was first presented in 2006 to the citizens of the Alleghany Highlands with the assistance of the Virginia State Bar and William T. Wilson, Esquire. The program was well-received and met such positive feedback that it became a model for similar programs throughout Virginia.

Those wishing to attend or with any questions should contact Samantha Ricci at (540) 962-6181.
