Chad Nickell & The Loose Change

Legends, A Showcase, at the Masonic Amphitheatre

Clifton Forge, VA (July 8, 2016) - On Saturday, July 23 beginning at 6:00 pm, three well-known local bands will perform on the award-winning stage of the Masonic Amphitheatre. The event is known as “Legends” and it is presented to showcase these area bands in an arena that will make the most of their sound, style and talent while allowing the audience to enjoy all three in one evening.

Chad Nickell & The Loose Change band members include: Daniel Jackson on lead guitar and vocals, Josh Woodzell on percussion, Colten Williams on bass guitar and vocals, and Chad Nickell on lead vocals and acoustic guitar. They only recently joined forces in the spring of 2015, but all have been active in the local Alleghany Highlands music scene for years. They came together with the common goal to write and perform heartfelt, original anthem rock, mostly stemming from the mind of their passionate and driven frontman, Chad Nickell.

A Rally Cry is an original rock band formed in the deep, dark mountains of Virginia. For nearly twenty years, they have helped define local modern rock style. With a little bit of raw talent, a do- it- yourself attitude and dose of creativity, A Rally Cry sets the rock n roll bar high. Band members, all local, consist of Adam Bradberry, vocals, keyboard, guitar; Zeke Downey guitar; Matt Hall, bass, vocals, and Doug Shires, vocals and drums. Band spokesperson, Doug Shires says, “I'd like to say we all draw from different influences. Adam and I are huge U2 fans, Matt is Pearl Jam, and Zeke likes more hard rock bands too. But we also draw from jazz musicians like miles Davis and Dave Brubeck. Jack White is a big influence for all of us. But we kind of make our own sound out of all of it. Anything from Hendrix to Kings of Leon. A Rally Cry plays Old Time Rock and Roll and some new stuff. We play Cover songs from U2, Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, CCR, and some newer music like Black Crows, and we have seven or eight original songs.”

The Silverbacks band members include Steve Bowers, bass and vocals; Drew Kimball, lead guitar and vocals; Dave Warren, guitar and lead vocals, and Mercer Johnson on drums. The Silverbacks started as a hometown band, three of its members are from Clifton Forge and Drew Kimball is from Charlottesville. They have been together for six years and play classic Rock and Roll, Blues and original tunes.

Tickets for Legends are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for students. They may be purchased at Club Car, Jack Mason’s Tavern, Alleghany Highlands Chamber Office, online at www.historicmasonictheatre.com and at the entrance tent prior to the performance. The Masonic Amphitheatre offers bench and chair seating or bring your own lawn chair. Concessions are available.
