DCR Official Responds To Journal's Request For Clifton Forge Dam Information By Jerry E. Clark   Clifton Forge, VA (August 25, 2016) - Michael R. Fletcher, the Freedom Of Information Officer at the Virginia Department Of Conservation and Recreation supplied the AlleghanyJournal.com, via a letter to its editor today, a detailed set of answers to questions the newspaper posed it on the subject of the Clifton Forge Dam. At issue is the eventual huge, multi-million upgrade, that the town of Clifton Forge will have to commit to building to meet relatively new state standards on dam safety. Town Manager Darlene Burcham mentioned this issue earlier this spring as the town moves forward to meet the various challenges this eventual project will entail.
