Original Drifters to Perform on the Historic Masonic Theatre Stage

Clifton Forge, VA (August 26, 2016) - great music for many, many years and now they will be performing on the Historic Masonic Theatre’s stage on September 10 at 7:30 pm.

Bill Pinkney’s Original Drifters are celebrating Sixty Three Glorious Years of Magical Music Moments from the Landscape and Soundtrack of Your Life 1953 – 2016.

“The best act of its genre on the music scene today,” the Bill Pinkney legacy group still reflects the entire Legendary Drifters presence in the music industry and weaves a blend of nostalgic magic and on-stage excitement with a 21st Century twist. Today’s sophisticated and informed music lovers reject generic imitations, and, accordingly, The Original Drifters® remain in demand.

Music’s Drifters represent more than the story of a single group’s success. Changes in personnel and management have led over the years to the sprouting of many Drifters permutations, but 1953 original BILL PINKNEY used the name / mark THE ORIGINAL DRIFTERS® since the 1950s, and his legacy continues.

Bill Pinkney passed away on July 4, 2007 and the Original Drifters sing the songs the group made famous.

The Drifters recorded hit classics such as "Under the Boardwalk", "Save the Last Dance for Me", "There Goes My Baby", "Up on the Roof", and "On Broadway", and the Original Drifters have been inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.

In 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked the Drifters #81 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time and in 1988, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted the Drifters. The Songwriters Hall of Fame includes The Drifters among their Songwriters Friends, the artists who popularized the songs written by inductees.

Tickets to the Original Drifters concert are $20 adult, $17 seniors/military and $15 students. They may be purchased online at www.historicmasonictheatre.com after September 1 or by calling the Masonic Theatre Box Office at 540 862 5655, from 11:00 to 2:00, Monday through Friday.

Prior to the Original Drifters concert, a dedication ceremony for the Historic Masonic Theatre Historic Marker will take place on the Ridgeway/Main Street triangle. The public is cordially invited to attend. A small reception will be held after the dedication.
