DSLCC Foundation Grants Nearly 50 Area Students Dabney Promise Scholarships

 
Clifton Forge, VA (August 29, 2016) -The DSLCC Educational Foundation has awarded nearly $100,000 to the inaugural class of Dabney Promise scholars.

For the 2016-2017 academic year, fifty students are participating in the pilot program, which mirrors the national platform – America’s College Promise – of access to community college for all.

Students must complete several requirements, a few of which include living in the DSLCC service area, maintaining a 2.25 GPA, and completing 4 hours of community service each semester.
