Stephen Soundheim's Tony-winning musical "Into the Woods" will be performed at the Historic Masonic Theatre on October 28, 29 and 31. Camelot Theatre of Buena Vista will present the play with a cast of regional performers.

'Into The Woods' Performance Set At Masonic Theatre Oct. 28, 29 and 31st   Clifton Forge, VA (Oct. 15, 2016) - Camelot, a community theater and cultural arts center in Buena Vista, is pleased to announce that they will present the musical “Into the Woods” at the restored Historic Masonic Theatre. Into the Woods will be presented on Friday, October 28 at 7:00 pm, Saturday, October 29 at 1:00 pm and Saturday, October 29 at 7:00 pm and Monday, October 31 at 7:00 pm. On Monday, October 31st you don’t want to miss the special Halloween night family show and children’s costume parade, which will begin at 6:00 pm prior to the musical. One of Stephen Sondheim's most popular works, “Into the Woods” takes everyone's favorite storybook characters and brings them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece - and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey into the woods to break the curse. Along the way the audience meets Rapunzel and the Prince and Giants from the sky. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. Camelot's past productions have been performed in their 100 seat location on Magnolia Ave. in Buena Vista. Boasting an impressive cast of local and regional actors from Lexington, Buena Vista, Buchanan, Roanoke and Covington, this show has become a regional production.
