Dabney S. Lancaster Community College students Caleb Morrison and Marie Shiraki, both enrolled in the new Arts Management program at DSLCC, met with two officials from Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg, WV. During a visit on October 11, the DSLCC visitors learned about the history of Carnegie Hall, its organization, its focuses, and its impacts in the community. From left: Morrison, Shiraki, Director Sara Crickenberger and Education Director Leah Trent. The tour was part of a course taught by DSLCC Associate Professor Tondalaya VanLear to introduce students to arts management as a career pathway. The students visit a variety of arts-based venues to learn about the many aspects of the organization and what types of knowledge and skill sets are needed to maintain a successful operation.
