Fire Departments Quickly Put Out Thursday Fire   Covington, VA (Dec./ 30, 2016) - The Covington Fire and Rescue Departments were called to 1310 Harmon Avenue Thursday night at 11:48 p.m. for a trailer on fire. Fire was showing from the left side of the trailer on fire department personnel arrival. The Crew located the fire in a utility room in the trailer and made a quick knock down of the fire. It was less than 20 minutes from arrival of first apparatus that the fire was marked out by command. Nineteen members and six pieces of equipment responded for Covington. The Dunlap Fire Department assisted with a tanker and 5 members. The fire was electrical in nature and the damage is estimated at fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000). The Red Cross is assisting the residents; no one was injured.
