CDL Course Begins February 4 at DSLCC

Clifton Forge, VA (Jan. 16, 2017) - Dabney S. Lancaster Community College will offer a 35-hour non-credit course in February for students to obtain their Class A Virginia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). The general knowledge classroom and pre-trip inspection sessions will take place on two Saturdays, February 4 and 11, from 8 am to 4 pm in room 502, McCarthy Hall, on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus.

After completing the classroom and pre-trip portions of the course and obtaining a learner’s permit, students will then have a total of 16 hours of intensive one-on-one behind-the-wheel training. Once training has been completed, an instructor will accompany the student in a DSLCC tractor trailer to the DMV test site for the driving portion of the test.

The full tuition is $1,899; however, students who are Virginia residents may pay only $633 if they qualify under the New Economy Workforce Credential Grant (WCG) program (terms and conditions will apply). There are also other options for drivers who already hold a learner’s permit or need additional behind-the-wheel training.

For more information, contact Doug Jones at (540) 863-2870 or email djones@dslcc.edu.
