"Shark Tank" Celebrity Featured Speaker Feb. 7   Clifton Forge, VA (Feb. 1, 2017) - A live broadcast featuring entrepreneur and “Shark Tank” celebrity Barbara Corcoran will be aired Tuesday, February 7, beginning at 7 pm in Room 202, Backels Hall, on the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Clifton Forge campus, and also in Room 908, at the DSLCC Rockbridge Regional Center in Buena Vista. This is one of several live broadcast events sponsored this school year by the DSLCC Chapter of The National Society of Leadership and Success. Corcoran is also an author, speaker and investor. Contrary to her professional successes, Corcoran struggled in both high school and college recalling having 20 jobs by the time she turned 23. It was at that time she borrowed $1,000, quit her job as a waitress to start a tiny real estate company in New York City and created the foundation to become one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the country. Over the next 25 years she turned the $1,000 loan into a $5 billion real estate empire. She is famously brash, courageous, and a brilliant identifier of opportunity and talent often invisible to others. Barbara has invested in over 25 entrepreneurs over the last 6 years, personally helping each one succeed. She continues to speak, coach and share her knowledge with audiences all over the world. Corcoran will share her personal experiences and offer coaching to help students identify opportunities to build their own foundations for success. The Speaker Broadcast series, which will reach more than 520 college campuses each month during the academic year, is designed to support the society’s overall mission of Building Leaders Who Make a Better World.
