- FIRST READING AND PUBLIC HEARING:
Resolution to consider a request for a conditional use permit for property located at MAP #12300-01-209-0030, 619 Jefferson Avenue to allow the applicant to operate a tourist home from the existing dwelling. The request went before the Planning Commission at its June 20, 2017 meeting and it has been unanimously recommended for approval to Council.
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt resolution to approve conditional use permit
• PROPOSED DEBT ISSUANCE BY THE TOWN
The capital improvement plan for fiscal year 2017-2018 including wastewater
projects was adopted in June 2017. The CIP included replacement and rehabilitation of sewer lines to reduce excess infiltration and inflow. The Virginia Resources Authority has offered the Town a $2,049,739 loan with $700,000 loan forgiveness. The remaining amount of $1,349,739 will be financed at 0% interest for 20 years.Â

- ORDINANCE TO VACATE PORTION OF ALLEY AND ALLOW PURCHASE OF SAID PROPERTY AS DESCRIBED
Proposed vacation and sale of a portion of the Town alley lying between properties identified as Tax No. 11700-01-001-010A and Tax No. 11700-01-001-0100, and to also purchase the property, acting as right of way, identified as Tax No. 12300-01-000-0G00, lying to the west of said alley and properties, for the amount of $2,000.
RECOMMENDATION: Waive second reading and adopt ordinance

• AMENDMENT TO REVERSION AGREEMENT
At the Town’s request, the County will return to performing the building official duties October 2, 2017. The Town will retain responsibility for rental inspection and property maintenance functions.
The County has been informally performing these duties since last October when the Director of Community Development resigned.
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt agreement
