Arc Welding Courses Scheduled at BTEC

 
Clifton Forge, VA (Sept. 22, 2017) - Two arc welding courses have been scheduled at the Botetourt Technical Education in Fincastle this fall. Both begin in October and are sponsored by Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Workforce Solutions and Community Education.

“Gas Metal Arc Welding” is a 36-hour course which includes both classroom instruction and hands-on lab training on one welding position, 1G flat groove. The tuition fee of $999 includes all instructional materials and qualification testing.

The class will meet for nine sessions on Thursday evenings, October 5 through December 7, from 6 to 10 pm. The instructor is Troy Linkenhoker.

“Shielded Metal Arc Welding” is a 60-hour course, which includes both classroom and hands-on lab training for two welding positions, vertical and overhead. The class will meet for 15 sessions, on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 10 pm, October 2 through November 20.

The tuition fee of $1,602 also includes all instructional materials and qualification tests. The instructor is Chris Zalewski.

No experience is necessary for either of these courses, which provide entry-level job readiness training.
