Peter and the Wolf & Sleeping Beauty at the Masonic Theatre

Clifton Forge, VA (Oct. 30, 2017) - The talented dancers of Roanoke Ballet Theatre present two beloved classic tales of discovery and imagination at The Historic Masonic Theatre on Saturday, November 11 at 2:30pm.

Peter and the Wolf, the greatest of all works for narrator and orchestration, tells the story of young boy who disobeys his grandfather and climbs over the garden wall. When he encounters a wolf, with quick thinking and the help of his friends – a bird, a duck and a cat – Peter captures the wolf and it is taken to the zoo.

Sleeping Beauty, set to Tchaikovsky’s celebrated score stays true to the storybook charm, this ballet casts a spell of delight all the way to true love’s kiss.

By fostering the art of dance, Roanoke Ballet Theatre hopes to enrich and empower students, performers and audience members.

Roanoke Ballet Theatre is celebrating it's 35th season and is Roanoke's only non-profit school of dance, providing instruction in ballet, pointe, modern, tap, jazz, and specialty classes for all ages and skill levels. RBT maintains a performing company of professionals and student members who perform and tour throughout the year. RBT is a Center in the Square Organization and is a beneficiary of the Western Virginia Foundation for the Arts and Sciences.
