Trails, Trees, Solar Eclipse Talk at DSLCC Rescheduled to February 7

Clifton Forge, VA (Jan. 19, 2018) - “Trails and Trees: On the Road to the Total Solar Eclipse” is the topic of a talk to be presented by Dr. Sue Wells Rollinson in the Moomaw Center on the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Clifton Forge campus on Wednesday, February 7, beginning at 11:30 am. Dr. Rollinson’s talk was rescheduled from an earlier date, due to inclement weather.

Dr. Rollinson’s presentation is also scheduled at the DSLCC Rockbridge Regional Center in Buena Vista on Monday, February 5, from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm in Room 908.

Dr. Rollinson will talk about a 10,000-mile road trip she took with her husband, Lon, to Oregon to view the solar eclipse. Along the way they took a detour to view the oldest, tallest and largest trees in the world and visited some of the great National Parks in the western United States.

Dr. Rollinson has been affiliated with DSLCC since 1980. She has taught chemistry, computer applications, and environmental science, and she was the first director of the Jackson River Governor’s School (2000-2007). She has been the director/co-director/webmaster for the Field Ecology Summer Regional Governor’s School since 2000.

Dr. Rollinson’s talk is free and open to the public; lunch will be served by a local church during the presentation on the Clifton Forge campus at a cost of $3 per person.
