DSLCC Nursing Assistant Course Starts March 5   Clifton Forge, VA (Feb. 16, 2018) - Dabney S. Lancaster Community College will offer a course in Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training for the spring semester, beginning March 5, at the Jackson River Technical Center in Valley Ridge. The instructor is Vanessa Givens. Class will meet on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 9:30 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 4 pm, through May 31. Clinical experience will be at the Brian Center, a local care facility. All students are required to submit to a basic background check and drug screen prior to attending the clinical sessions. Certified Nursing Assistants learn basic care skills, including the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of patients, with an emphasis on geriatric nursing. CNA’s may be employed in hospitals, long-term care facilities or private homes. The tuition fee of $2,250 includes all textbooks.
