Note: The Alleghany County Commissioner of Revenue will be changing their assessment methodology for personal property to 100% of clean loan (from the NADA book) instead of 50% as in the past. They will also change assessments to Heavy Trucks, Construction Machinery, utility Trailers, Campers, Boats, Boat Trailers, and Motorcycles to an updated depreciation schedule.                RECOMMENDATION: Proceed to second reading - An ordinance to amend Section 86-95, Water Services Charges and Fees beginning July 1, 2018.                     RECOMMENDATION: Proceed to second reading - An Ordinance Amending and Levying Chapter 78 Taxation, Article VII—Tax on Meals in Food Establishments or by Caterers, Section 178                Recommendation: Proceed to second reading - Resolution Adopting the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Operating and Capital      Budgets For the Town of Clifton Forge, Virginia and Appropriating the Requisite Funds for Said Budgets                     RECOMMENDATION: Proceed to second reading • PRESENTATION Clifton Forge Main Street Downtown Market - Diana Kling Smith • CONSENT AGENDA • MINUTES      Council Meeting, April 10, 2018 Council Meeting, April 24, 2018                                                                           RECOMMENDATION: Approve minutes of April 10 & 24, 2018 • ACTION ITEMS - REQUEST FROM CLIFTON FORGE MAIN STREET FOR PERMISSION TO HOST THE DOWNTOWN MARKET Clifton Forge Main Street requests permission to hold the Downtown Market on Thursdays from 3:30–6:30 pm, beginning June 14, 2018 through August 30, 2018, with the option to extend into mid-October if vendor interest allows and to utilize the loop street parking lot for the event, restricting parking in the lot by using cones after 2 pm to allow vendor set-up time. They would also like to request permission to hang the downtown market banner on the pole next to the parking lot, which will require assistance from public works.           RECOMMENDATION: Grant request - REQUEST FOR STREET CLOSURE FOR GRAN FONDO The Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce is requesting that Church Street be closed between Jefferson Street and Commercial Street on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 8 AM–6 PM for the Gran Fondo event.
