Covington Salvation Army Thrift Store Seeks Volunteers

 
Covington, VA (May 17, 2018) - The Salvation Army is seeking volunteers to assist in its Family Thrift Store, 149 N. Maple in Covington. Volunteers are needed in the following departments: clothing, bric-a-brac, hardware, household items, books, and furniture. Help is needed with sorting donations, stocking shelves, tagging, and minor furniture restoration. Volunteers should be willing to commit to a regular weekly schedule.

     The Family Thrift Store financially supports The Salvation Army’s charitable work in Covington and the surrounding counties, including its summer camps, work with youth, and provision of basic human necessities. The Salvation Army in Covington is supported almost exclusively by local donations. Its services to the community are tailored to local needs.
