Covington City Council Sets Work Session, June 5, 2018

 
A work session of the Council for the City of Covington will be held on TUESDAY June 5, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers of City Hall located at 333 W. Locust Street, Covington, Virginia

This work session will be to set the agenda for the regular meeting on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

1.     To hold a Public Hearing regarding the proposed Real Estate and Mobile Home Tax Increase; Changes to Tangible Personal Property and Machinery and Tools

2.     To hold a Public Hearing regarding proposed Solid Waste Collection Rate Increase and Landfill Charge Increase

3.     To hold a Public Hearing regarding the proposed FY 2018/2019 Budget

4.     To consider a Fixed Asset Policy     

5.     To consider easement acceptance regarding Maple Ave. wastewater improvements project

6.     To consider an appointment to the Planning Commission

7.     To consider an appointment to the Roanoke Valley/Alleghany Regional Commission

8.     To consider an appointment to the Social Services Board

9 .     To consider 2 appointments to the Covington School Board

10.     To consider second reading of Ordinance O-18-01 regarding amending the City Code Chapter 10 Article III regarding Food and Beverage Establishments

11.     To consider Appropriation Resolution R-18-27 regarding boiler repair at the Jeter-Watson Center in the amount of $38,600

12.     To consider Appropriation Resolution R-18-28 regarding Maple Ave.

     wastewater project in the amount of $28,000

13.     To consider Resolution R-18-29 regarding signature authority for

     Maple Ave. Phase II Project

14.     To consider Appropriation Resolution R-18-30 regarding Maple Ave. Phase II Project local match in the amount of $59,071

15.     To consider Appropriation Resolution R-18-31 regarding Drone Zone Project local match in the amount of $100,000

16.     To consider Appropriation Resolution R-18-32 regarding Locust St. waterline/sidewalk project in the amount of $40,000

17.     To consider Appropriation Resolution R-18-33 regarding School Textbook Fund in the amount of $35,185.58
