Alleghany County School Board Personnel Actions, June 18, 2018

 
Low Moor, VA (June 18, 2018) - At the conclusion of closed session at Mountain View Elementary School on Monday, June 18, 2018 the School Board took the following personnel action:

The School Board approved George M. Wood as the Assistant Principal at Clifton Middle School along with the following teacher appointments at Alleghany High School for the 2018-2019 school year: Diana S. Higgins, Special Education; Benjamin A. Manning, Social Studies; Eric L. Stratmann, Math and Nicholas A. Perlozzo, Physcial Education.

Clifton Middle School appointments include Katie J. Hinkle; Science Teacher; Nicole K. Ingram, Special Education Teacher and David R. Mundy, Math Teacher. Teresa C. Jarvis was approved as a Special Education Teacher at Mountain View Elementary School and Marcie J. Lynn as an Elementary Teacher. Hannah M. Bradley was approved as an Elementary Teacher at Sharon Elementary School. Joleen W. Feazell was approved as the Title 1 Parent Coordinator.

Nicole E. Shifflett was approved as the Attendance Secretary at Alleghany High School and Daphne Livesay as a teacher assistant. Joanna L. Masters as a full-time Cafeteria Worker at Alleghany High School. Cristy L. Cook was approved as the Cafeteria Site Manager at Sharon Elementary School and Olivia B. Price as a part-time Cafeteria Worker at Clifton Middle School. Cynthia A. Higgins was approved as a substitute cafeteria worker; Patricia Shifflett as a substitute teacher assistant, and Jean E. Jennings as a substitute school nurse.

The following extra-curricular appointments were approved at Alleghany High and Clifton Middle School:

Danny L. Christian – Football Assistant Coach – Alleghany High School; Madison K. Carter – Varsity Head Volleyball Coach – Alleghany High School; Jennifer S. Taylor – JV Head Volleyball Coach – Alleghany High School; Jose M. Aragones – Head Boys Varsity Soccer Coach – Alleghany High School; Zachary S. Mahler – JV Head Boys Soccer Coach – Alleghany High School; Gary W. Rice – Head Baseball Coach – Alleghany High School; Gary R. Burdette – Assistant Baseball Coach – Alleghany High School; Gavin A. Haynes – JV Head Baseball Coach – Alleghany High School; William C. Saar – Head Softball Coach – Alleghany High School;

Charles D. Leitch – Assistant Softball Coach – Alleghany High School;

Tracy E. Shinault – JV Head Softball Coach – Alleghany High School; and

Mark A. Jefferson – Outdoor Assistant Track Coach – Alleghany High School

Lychelle D. Lewis – Outdoor Assistant Track Coach – Alleghany High School; Madison K. Carter – Outdoor Assistant Track Coach – Clifton Middle School; Sadie J. Dickson – AHS Color Guard Co-Coach; and

Zoe A. Stein – AHS Color Guard Co-Coach

EXTRA-CURRICULAR VOLUNTEER UNPAID ASSISTANT COACHES:

Ivan Damilura – Boys Assistant Soccer Coach

Ryan Kessinger – Boys Assistant Baseball Coach

Seth Bradley – Boys Assistant Baseball Coach

Leonard Phillips – JV Assistant Softball Coach

Charlie Rusmisel – Wrestling – Alleghany High School

Jay Easton – Boys Basketball – Alleghany High School

Greg Entsminger – JV Boys Basketball – Alleghany High School

Madison Carter – Girls Basketball – Clifton Middle School

The School Board also approved several internal transfers for the 2018-2019 school year.

The School Board accepted the retirement of Nancy M. Moga, Principal at Callaghan Elementary School, effective October 1, 2018 and Lydia D. Nicely, Secretary at Alleghany High School effective June 30, 2018. The School Board accepted the June 30, 2018 resignations of Esther T. Allman, Math Teacher at Clifton Middle School: Andrea G. Camper, Math Teacher at Clifton Middle School; Shannon L. Fogus, English Teacher at Alleghany High School; Grace M. Hanna, Elementary Teacher at Sharon Elementary School; Margaret M. Sizemore, Social Studies Teacher at Clifton Middle School; Patricia K. Sprague, Math Teacher at Alleghany High School, and Melissa B. Carr, Part-Time Cafeteria at Clifton Middle School. Mary Persinger resigned as Color Guard Coach and Christina Linsin resigned as Forensics Team Head Coach at Alleghany High School.
