Beginning Computer Courses Offered This Summer at DSLCC

 
Clifton Forge, VA (June 27, 2018) - Two non-credit computer classes for beginning students have been scheduled this summer in two locations by Dabney S Lancaster Community College’s Workforce Solutions and Community Education Division.

“Windows 10 Workshop” is a one-session class, to be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Room 504, McCarthy Hall, on the DSLCC main campus in Clifton Forge on Monday, July 23, and again at the DSLCC Rockbridge Regional Center in Buena Vista, Room 907, on Wednesday, July 25. Students will work with tile apps, as well as desktop applications, create files and folders, and learn to use other functions that will enable them to make the most of Microsoft’s newest operating system. The tuition fee is $35; no textbook is required.

“Computers for the Absolute Beginner,” is a three-session course and will be held from 6:00 to 8:30 pm in Room 504, McCarthy Hall, on the DSLCC main campus in Clifton Forge, on Mondays, July 30, August 6 and 13, and in Room 907 at the RRC on Wednesdays, August 1, 8 and 15. This class is for anyone who has never turned on a computer or is intimidated by them. Tuition is $65, and the textbook is “Welcome to the World of Computers, 5th ed.”
