Michele Clifford Wright Is 70th Alleghany Highlands Christmas Mother

Covington, VA (Oct. 20, 2018) - Today Highlands Christmas Mother, Inc. announced Michele Clifford Wright as the 70th Christmas Mother.

Message from The Christmas Mother: "It is a privilege to serve our community as the 2018 Highlands Christmas Mother. Having volunteered in the Christmas Mother Shop and taken applications in past years, I am very much aware of the wonderful results of the program. This community has a rich history of giving generously of it's time, talent and treasures to provide for those who find themselves in need. As I look around the Alleghany Highlands, I see daily acts of kindness, mercy and generosity, so I have chosen as my theme this year “Love Extravagantly”.

"Many children are counting on your extravagant love to make a difference in their lives this Christmas season. I ask that you again take action to support this awesome program. As in past years, we anticipate gifting a new toy for children age 12 and under, as well as a variety of food items to make their Christmas Day celebration a joyous one. Teenagers will be provided with a special teen pack. A bag of household products will also be provided for each family.

"Community participation is absolutely crucial to the success of this program. You have an opportunity to follow the wise words written by John Wesley prior to his death in 1791:

“Do all the good you can,

By all the means you can,

In all the ways you can,

In all the places you can,

At all the times you can,

To all the people you can,

As long as ever you can.”

The Christmas Mother Program can use your help in the following ways:

"VOLUNTEER: The program could not possibly function without the many volunteers who donate hours of their time and talent. You are invited to join this wonderful group of volunteers. To become involved, please leave a message at the Christmas Mother Shop # 962-9077 October 29th. Volunteering will provide you with a rewarding experience.
