Covington City Council Meets Tues., Jan. 8, 2019

 
A meeting of the Council for the City of Covington will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 333 W. Locust Street, Covington, Virginia.

     1.     Reorganization of Council/ Election of Mayor and Vice Mayor

2.     To consider request by Covington City School Board for an appropriation of carryover funds in the amount of $45,911.

3.     To consider: (a) Approval of Wastewater Consent Order

(b) Approval of Appropriation Resolution R-19-08 in the amount of $521,000     (c)Authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement

     4.     To consider E-911 Software Proposal for software in the amount of $50,000 and annual maintenance agreement of $20,000

     5.     To consider approval of Towing Contract and authorize the City Manager to execute the contract with interested towing companies

H.     ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS

1.     To consider the following Grant Appropriations for the Police Dept.:

     (a) R-19-01 Donation in the amount of $1,500

     (b) R-19-02 Bullet Proof Vest in the amount of $720

     (c) R-19-03 DMV Grant in the amount of $7,950

     (d) R-19-04 Donation for “Shop with a Cop” in the amount of $600

2.      To consider Appropriation Resolution R-19-05 regarding a Litter Control Grant in the amount of $94.94

3.     To consider Appropriation Resolution R-19-06 regarding VDOT Paving Grant for Spruce to Patrick in the amount of $150,500

4.     To consider Appropriation Resolution R-19-07 regarding VDOT Paving Grant for Riverside to Alleghany in the amount of $180,500

5.     To consider Appropriation Resolution R-19-09 regarding CDBG Grant (Jackson Street) in the amount of $70,000

6.     To consider Resolution R-19-10 regarding requesting designation of the Jackson Street Sports Complex as a public recreational area and funding request for existing roadway improvements
