WestRock’s Covington Mill Supports Hunter’s for the Hungry

Covington, VA (Jan. 9, 2019) - WestRock’s Covington mill recently presented a donation to Hunters for the Hungry which is a 501 (c)(3) organization that encourages hunters to donate surplus deer meat to their program in order to feed families in need. Since 1991, the program has provided a total of 26.6 million quarter pound servings of venison to people in Virginia. Through the generosity of local hunters, Hunters for the Hungry donated 1,500 pounds of venison to the Salvation Army and food banks in the Alleghany Highlands in 2018. They have two collection locations in the Highlands: Bartley’s Meat Market in Covington and Frank Persinger in Clifton Forge.
