Kansas City BBQ Society Certified Judging Class Set Feb. 23
|
| Covington, VA (Jan. 29, 2019) - To become eligible to judge a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned event like the local Cork & Pork Festival, one needs to attend a KCBS âjudge certificationâ class. A judging class involves instruction as well as sampling, and takes about a half a day to learn the rules as well as evaluate and judge competition level chicken, pulled pork, ribs and brisket.
A KCBS judging class (sponsored by Olde Town Covington), will be held on February 23, 2019 at Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church on Main Street in Covington starting at 9:00 a.m. and lasting until approximately 2:00 p.m. The class fee is $110 for non-KCBS members (this fee includes a one-year membership to KCBS) or $85 for existing KCBS members.
After taking the class, you will be eligible to sign up for contests and judge any KCBS sanctioned event held worldwide. There are over 450 sanctioned events in the US each year including 10- 12 in Virginia. To find out more about KCBS or to find events near you, visit their website at https://KCBS.US. | | | |
