C. F. Library Offering Black History Program

 
Clifton Forge, VA (Feb. 18, 2019) - The Clifton Forge Public Library will sponsor its Black History program, “Remembering Jefferson School,” on Monday, February 25. Library Director Mike Barnes will welcome a panel of fellow Jeffersonians who will speak about their experiences at Clifton Forge’s Jefferson School.

Sharing stories will be panelists Gretel Anderson, Gloria Davis Brown, Ione Callendar, Richard Chubb, and Lillie Hughes.

Teresa Johnson will preside over the program. A graduate of Clifton Forge High School, Hampton University, and Radford University, Mrs. Johnson was employed with the Alleghany County Public Schools for thirty-five years where she worked as an elementary teacher, middle school teacher and as an administrator. She is currently a doctoral candidate of Virginia Tech and serves as the Director of Education at Boys Home.

“Remembering Jefferson School” will conclude with a time for questions and comments from the audience.

The program will be held in the Library’s Michael Armstrong Community Room. It will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Light refreshments will be provided following the program.
