May 27th Stabbling Incident Results In Multiple Charges Against 17 Year-Old   Covington, VA (May 27, 2019) - On May 27, 2019 at approximately 11:30 pm on Shady Ln. a stabbing incident involving a male and a female occurred. The male is a juvenile and has been charged with felony breaking and entering at nighttime, malicious wounding, abduction and misdemeanor assault and battery. This an ongoing investigation and more information will be released at a later date. The victim was treated at Lewis-Gale Alleghany's emergency room and was released the next day. The male juvenile was taken to a Staunton area juvenile facility for evaluation. (Editor's note: due to the fact that the male juvenile is 17 years old, but has been emancipated, the Journal understands that a motion has been filed with the court to hear the case in adult court. If the motion is granted, the name of the assailant will be published by the Journal forthwith.)
